Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

Luminec is committed to ensuring that our website and services are accessible to all customers, including people with disabilities. We believe everyone should be able to browse our products, learn about skincare, and shop with us independently and with dignity, regardless of ability or the technology they use.

We are committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence, and to meeting the accessibility needs of persons with disabilities in a timely manner. We work to identify, prevent, and remove barriers to accessibility in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and other applicable Canadian accessibility legislation.

Accessibility Standards

Our goal is for luminecbeauty.com to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.

Conformance with these guidelines also helps make the Site more user-friendly for everyone.

Measures We Take

To support accessibility on our Site, we take measures including:

  • Semantic structure: using proper headings, landmarks, and page structure so that screen readers and other assistive technologies can navigate the Site effectively;
  • Text alternatives: providing alternative (alt) text for meaningful images, including product photos;
  • Keyboard navigation: working to ensure that core functions of the Site — browsing products, adding items to the cart, and completing checkout — can be performed using a keyboard alone;
  • Colour and contrast: aiming for sufficient colour contrast between text and backgrounds, and avoiding the use of colour as the only means of conveying information;
  • Readable text: using legible font sizes and supporting browser zoom and text resizing without loss of core functionality;
  • Forms and labels: labelling form fields (such as checkout and contact forms) so they can be understood by assistive technologies;
  • Consistent navigation: maintaining consistent menus, links, and page layouts across the Site;
  • Ongoing review: periodically reviewing the Site and incorporating accessibility considerations into design and content updates as our Site evolves.

Current Status and Limitations

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. While we strive to ensure the Site conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and we work to maintain and improve accessibility on a continuing basis, some content or features may not yet fully conform to every guideline. Possible limitations may include:

  • Third-party content and tools: portions of the Site rely on third-party services (such as payment processing, embedded content, or social media features) whose accessibility we do not fully control. We encourage those providers to supply accessible content and select vendors with accessibility in mind where possible;
  • Legacy or newly published content: some older content, or content published shortly before review, may temporarily contain accessibility issues that have not yet been identified or corrected;
  • User-generated content: content submitted by customers (such as product reviews) may not always meet accessibility standards.

If you encounter any of these limitations, please contact us using the details below, and we will work to provide the information or assistance you need in an accessible manner.

Compatibility with Browsers and Assistive Technology

The Site is designed to be compatible with recent versions of major browsers (such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge) and to work with commonly used assistive technologies, including screen readers, screen magnification software, and speech recognition software. The Site is responsive and designed to be usable on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

The Site may not display or function optimally on outdated browsers or operating systems that are no longer supported by their vendors.
